Tatur Halloween Party 7:30pm on Thursday October 26th at Tom Dorothy's Home.

(10/17)Come one, come all. We are going to have a great time, You are encouraged to wear your Halloween costume, bring the family and tell stories of previous big races such as the Turkey & Taturs Race, Flatrock, Arkansas Traveller, Heartland, K.C Marathon, and any other races. We will do another potluck and Tom and Julie Dorothy are opening up their home to us stinky runners. Directions are at the bottom of this page.

We will also present the YMCA with a check for over $1,000!!! This is a huge amount of money and we are really excited that the Turkey & Taturs race could raise this $$ to help send children to summer camp. Wooo-Hooo!!

We have had many new Taturs sign up since the last meeting and hopefully we will have a good turnout to welcome them. We will discuss getting our bi-monthly newsletter going. We will talk about our next official Tatur Race which will be the Devils Den 15-18 miler at Devil's Den State Park. If anyone would like to add something to the agenda or would like to invite a guest speaker, please let me know.

We will vote on Tatur of the Month. (We have to come up with a better name for this award though.) If you are lucky enough to win this distinguished award, you will receive a $25 gift certificate to Runners World. On the same ballot we will vote for best Halloween costume which will also be a $25 gift certificate to RunnersWorld. The catch is that you have to be present to win! So don't miss this meeting!! Like we did at our first and second meetings we will also have a book/magazine/video swap. Bring your old magazine issues and such. Write your name on the cover and bring back any literature that you borrowed previously.

Also bring any pictures and/or video from previous events. I know that all of you have beautiful aunts and cousins, but lets stick with running related events and leave the "1997 Summer at Grandpa's Shack" video at home. LOL.

Our final meeting of the year will be the annual Year-End Christmas Meeting at Dan and JoAnn Threlkeld's house. JoAnn will cook and Dan had a great idea, we will give away awards like: "Most Inspirational", "Most Improved", "Most Blisters", etc. We will make them funky and fun.
Here are the directions to Tom's and we will see ya there.
See ya Thursday,

Pa-Tatur Brian

Get on 145th street, or Aspen as it is known in BA. Tom lives in a subdivision on the eastside of 145th between 41st & 31st. When traveling on 145th between 41st & 31st turn east into the subdivision on 36th street, right if you are coming from the south and left if you are coming from the north. You will go down to a stop sign, continue east and take the next left, 150th. You will go until you hit 35th street, not 35th Place, which is the second right after turning on 150th. They are the second house on the right after you turn on 35th street. His address is 15010 E. 35th Street. His home number if you get lost is 437-8114. TATURs Take the Plunge!

Brian and Kathy's Wedding

(9/17)Well our TATURs Brian Hoover and Kathy Sager finally tied the knot! They were married by none other than TATUR Bill Webb in a beautiful outdoor ceremony Friday night in Catoosa. It was the first wedding that I've attended where the buffett included salted nuts, M & Ms and dried pineapple (and where the guests looked it it thinking "Running fuel! Score!"). We wish them the very best and are glad they were able to find a weekend between races to finally Git R' Done.
I'd like to impart to them a few words of wisdom handed down from my grandfather, Don Russell, about his wedding:

"When we got married, my wife said we could live on love...
But it wasn't even a week later and she wanted something to eat"
