This unique race will be a six hour or three hour timed run taking place on mostly flat, rock and root free, single track trails on the western side of Turkey mountain. The run will start March 23, 2013 at 9:00 am, and finish at either noon or 3:00 pm. The course will head northwest from the old upper parking lot following some of the trails used in the Turkey and Taturs race, then north onto the Snake Trail. These are some of the smoothest and easiest trails on the "mountain". We also have taken great pains to remove all of the larger snakes from the course. Just kidding. Actually, the snake trail gets its name because it winds around like a snake, not because of an infestation of slithery reptiles!

You will run 2.1, and then return and run the trail in reverse to the start/finish area.

There will be 2 aid stations, one at the start finish area near the upper parking lot, and one at the turnaround. You do not have to run for the entire six or three hours. You can run one out and back, run until you complete a 5k. 10k, half marathon, a marathon or a 50K if you're real fast. First 250 entrants will receive a long sleeve technical fabric T-shirt with a vicious looking snake adorning the front. You also will receive a medal that will have a front row row spot in your trophy case.

You can choose to run a very short out and back during the last hour for those not able to complete a full 4.2 mile out-and-back circuit. The winner is the one who after 6 or 3 hours covers the most miles. You can choose to run one circuit, then sleep for an hour and do another etc.

The entry fee is $45 for the six hour and $40 for the three hour race. Tatur members recieve a $5 discount and children 12 and under are free (shirt not included), The entry fee includes the shirt, large medal, post race cookout and 2 awesome buffets of trail food and drinks.

The Tatur Six Hour & Three Hour Snake Run works like this. The races starts a 9 am sharp. After six or three hours the runner who has ran the most miles wins.

The course will be a four mile circuit that you will try to complete as many times as possible. You must run either five hours for the six hour event or two hours for the three hour evetn to get the "FINISHERS MEDAL".
