About the Mud Run

 

The Tatur Mud Run presented by Rausch Coleman Homes is a fun one to two mile frolic through muddy obstacles Just a sampling of the obstacles include

• The Zoellner Chiropractic Super Slip & Slide
• The Robert Zoellner and Associates Kids Run Slip and Slide
• The Rib Crib Hill Climb
• The Bluestone Natural Resources Tummy Crawl
• The RunnersWorld Tulsa's Tire Dive

Proceeds to the Mud Run go to the Tulsa Firefighters Burn Camp which services children that are burn victims, or children that have any disfiguring type injuries. 

New this year is our presenting sponsor, Rausch Coleman Homes, Rausch Coleman believes in quality and has teamed up with the Tatur Mud Run to ensure a fun, safe and memorable event.

Also new this year is the addition of the TATUR TOTS Kid Mud Run presented by Drs. Robert and Chuck Zoellner. The Kids Mud Run will be open to kids aged 5-12 and will be sure to be a wild, messy adventure.

Costume Contest

           

• Costume contest will start at 3:30 pm. Biggest Loser's Sean Algiers will be a celebrity judge.
• Teams will be judged on originality, flair and theme.
• Prizes will be given to individuals, two person teams and five person teams.
• Get there early to schmooze the judges.
• Please take pictures of your team if you cannot make it to the actual contest. We will also give out absentee prizes.
• "Celebrity" judges needed

Team Competition

• Signing up as a team guarantees that you will run in the same heat
• Teams can be either two or five person teams (this is not a relay)
• Competitive teams will be age/sex handicapped and do not need to run together
• Non- competitive team are encouraged to stay together but it is not mandatory
• Most teams will dress in themed costumes
• One individual can sign up as a five person team (must enter team name) and add other team mates as they commit

Volunteers Needed

Want to experience the Mud Run, but don't want to get dirty? How about volunteering? We need people for all week long to help us build the course, stuff packets, and a myriad of other duties such as course marshals, parking, costume contest judges, and help setting everything up and tearing it all down.

Mud Run Perks

Course Info

If you think we are going to tell you all of the surprises we have in store for you, you are wrong. The Adult Mud run will be between one and two miles in length, the Tatur Tots Kids Mud Run will be somewhere close to one kilometer (0.6 miles)

Bring your cameras, lawn chairs, and costumes but leave your jewelry, track spikes, and vanity in the car, since you are going to plow through something that you have not experienced since you were a kid. Squishy mud, dirty clothes, slipping, sliding, and slithering in good ole fashioned Oklahoma mud. We hope that you enjoy this unique experience, since we know that your family and friends are going to laugh at you.

The TATURS wish to invite all the sorority girls, frat boys,, industry workers, corporate folk and all of the local communities to get involved in the wildest and craziest races that you will ever partake in. All fitness levels are qualified to compete as none of the obstacles will require crazy physical strength.

2011 Sponsorship Levels

Premium 10'x10' tent locations that offer the best view of the action are being offered for $250 a piece. Bring your company banner, a pop-up tent, some lawn chairs, and your samples or flyers and enjoy the spectacle of seeing the crazy mud runners. Tent locations are given out on first come first serve basis.

Turkey and Taturs Trail Race

Sunday September 12, 2010 | 6:30 A.M. | Westside YMCA Tulsa Oklahoma 50K/25K/10K

If you liked the TATUR Mud Run, you should check out the Turkey & Taturs Trail Race. There is a distance for everyone. The first 200 entrants will receive a black Brooks brand technical fabric short sleeved running shirt, a nice finishers medal and a post race barbecue lunch.
